New Items for Autumn

LEA // Necklace
The start of September officially marks the start of the Autumn season. but we're still enjoying some summer sun here in the UK, so the new items I've made and have finally added to Rose & Rina this week are perfect for transitioning from those warm summer days to the cooler days ahead when we'll be layering up and making a statement with our accessories...

Summer with Rose & Rina

These new Rose & Rina necklaces (NEREID//IONA//CARYS and HERA) were inspired by my recent trip to Corfu. The beautiful blue-green tones of the Ionian Sea and the rich mythological history of the island had me brimming with ideas when I got home.
The necklaces proved to be a hit at our recent stall at Camden Market. They are all sold out except for one! So I'll be making some more with a few interesting twists.... I'll keep you posted.

We Make London Designer/Makers Market at Camden Lock 7th June

Friday 7th June was my second time selling with We Make London at Camden Lock Market, and also happened to be We Make's 5th birthday.

Stephane and I had a great day chatting to customers and fellow stall holders, eating delicious food from the Camden Lock Food Market, drinking amazing Ethiopian coffee until the evening when We Make's pop-up shop expanded into an outdoor gathering with a fashion show featuring work by some of the designer/makers and Annaliese Dayes of America's Next Top Model fame's excellent new pop sock line 'frills'.

We Make London

I'll be at Camden Lock this Friday 7th June. Come join us and say hi!
We really enjoyed being part of the market last month and are looking forward to joining We Make London for their 5th Birthday party too! See below for some photos from our first stall at We Make in Camden.

Renewed & Revived

I had to share this feature from the Beam and Anchor (more to follow on them) blog, as it combines a couple of my favourite things - reviving old unwanted furniture to a new and present glory, ace fabric and it is all carried out (of course) in Portland, Oregon - home to a thriving community of Designers, Makers, Recyclers and Creatives.

Check out the re-upholstery process below that gives new life to an ugly looking sofa previously destined for the junkyard.

Calico Wallpaper

The Brooklyn based duo behind Calico wallpaper started making their signature metallic marbled wall prints after being stranded in their apartment for almost a month after Hurricane Sandy.
So clearly good things can come out of bad... aren't their prints absolutely beautiful?
